Only Love You For Your Car

New video for Only Love You For Your Car.  Directed by Tippi Tomlin-Hood, produced by Kimberli Persley and camera work by Kyle Surovy.

Our “world tour” starts in a few weeks!  We’ll be in Western Canada for the first half of September, starting with an absolutely free show for CFUV’s 25th anniversary and taking us to Winnipeg and back.  Good ol’ Exclaim! Magazine is sponsoring the tour.  We go to Europe for October, then fly back to New York for the CMJ Music Marathon and a Central/Eastern Canada tour.  The “world” part is really only justified by our probable tour of China in December.  Keep up to date here with our show calendar, or sign up for our newsletter.

Nice video :) Can you please please tell me you’re coming to the Netherlands too on the European tour? Feels like I’ve been waiting for ages to see you live! *puppy eyes*

Not too sure about Netherlands yet – we would love to though. What city do you live in?

I live in the Hague, but any city would be fine, it’s a small country ;) If you want to play in the Netherlands, (I don’t know how this works, do venues invite you, do you contact venues to play there?) you could try Paradiso or the Melkweg in Amsterdam, het Paard van Troje in the Hague, Ekko or Tivoli in Utrecht (this is central Netherlands, so easier to get there for your fans! ;)), Watt or Rotown in Rotterdam, Vera in Groningen… If you come I promise to bring lots of friends ;)

(And sorry if this is to stalker-ish :’) I’d just really love to see you live)

Yeah, I agree with Marjolein and would love to see you play in Amsterdam!

Missed you the last time you were here.

Is Kathryn coming on this tour?
Either way I am going to the PEI show.

Also you should give Moncton NB a shot if you’re gonna be playing PEI anyway, it’s close-by and loves good music :)

Anyways, see you then, thanks much for the great great music!

Oh, how exciting. I’ll be sure to be at both London shows sporting my ‘diver’ button I picked up at a show at The Sugar Refinery way back in 2002(?). It’s been a few years since I’ve see you guys — not counting last year’s odd coincidence of spotting one of you at the Tate’s Dada exhibition last year. How Twilight Zone. Anway, seiously looking forward to it; like the old, the new stuff is fab.

    Great Show in Edmonton!

I finally got around to figuring out a hidden message in your older music.

At the end of “tell it to the ones who care” there is some chatter. I turned the track backwards and slowed it by 40% to hear someone talking about UFO sightings in LA.

Very chilling but equally cool. I’m wondering if there was a story behind this?

Antwerp in Belgium or Koln in Germany will be good too! That’s drive-able, unlike Frankfurt or Hamburg :( (though I just looked up the price for a ticket to London and that would be only 80 euros for a return… tempting)

I’ve just seen Ohbijou at Rotown, and I thought they were great (maybe you know them? They’re from Canada too :) ), but I kept thinking ‘What if this was Immaculate Machine’?
